How To Prestige In MW3

After reaching the level cap in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, players will gain access to a prestige system that lets them further level their account. Unlike older CoD titles, MW3’s version of the prestige system is far more accessible and doesn’t reset any progress. If you want to showcase your playtime or want to max your account rank, the prestige system is for you.

With hundreds of levels to earn, this prestige system can take quite some time to complete. This guide will explain how MW3’s prestige system works, how to increase your prestige, and provide some tips on how to maximize your XP gains to speed up the prestige leveling process.

Does Modern Warfare 3 Have A Prestige System?

Modern Warfare 3’s first season added a prestige system that allows players to surpass Level 55. This prestige system works identically to MW2 2022. After you reach Level 55, all earned XP will contribute towards prestige ranks. Earning a prestige rank will change the emblem next to your account name in pre-game lobbies, with higher prestige ranks showcasing more elaborate emblem designs.

You do not have to reset your progress or make any sacrifices to earn prestige ranks; it behaves closer to a level cap increase.

MW3’s prestige emblems are divided into various tiers, with Sledgehammer adding additional prestige thresholds with each season. Excluding the first rank, each prestige is made up of 50 levels, as shown below:

Each new MW3 season adds five prestige tiers, so the climb to max prestige will get progressively longer throughout MW3’s life cycle. Additionally, each prestige ranks comes with eight calling card challenges, four per game mode (MP and MWZ). Completing these challenges will unlock a prestige mastery emblem.

How To Prestige In Modern Warfare 3

You will automatically earn prestige ranks after reaching Level 55 in Multiplayer, Warzone, or MWZ. All future XP earned will go towards increasing your prestige, the same as Levels 1-55. Since XP gains contribute to your prestige levels, any sources of XP boosts such as Double XP Tokens will accelerate how quickly you gain prestige.

Prestige Tips

• XP Tokens: Use Double XP Tokens. These work with prestige ranks.
• Decoy Grenades: Decoy Grenades in Domination (MP only) grants 15 XP per enemy killed near the grenade. Use the Engineer Vest to throw three per life, granting 45 XP per assist.
• Contracts: MWZ and Warzone award an immense amount of XP for completing contracts, Plunder especially.
