Ranged combat in Caves Of Qud is simple, but since it's one of the many things that isn't explicitly laid out for players, it's easy to find yourself stuck when you need to throw a grenade or shoot a bow. Here's everything you need to know about ranged attacks in Caves Of Qud.

How to shoot a bow, pistol or rifle in the Qud Caves

Before you can fire a ranged weapon, it must be both equipped and loaded. Equipping the weapon is the easy part; go to your inventory screen e drag the weapon into the ranged weapon slot in the bottom right corner.

Ranged weapons have their own equip slot, so there's no need to unequip your melee weapon; you can have both at the same time.

You get a ranged weapon slot for each hand you have; rifles and bows require two hands, while pistols require only one. If you have multiple ranged weapons equipped, they will alternating fire with every ranged attack you make unless you have the On the hips skill, in which case they will fire at the same time.

Weapons start unloadingthen you need to reload a newly equipped weapon by pressing the R key. Bows use arrows, and firearms use projectiles or projectiles. The ammunition is loaded directly from your inventory; it does not need to be equipped.
