The best linear games that feel like an open world
Whether it's because they have many different paths or side objectives, some games FEEL like they're open world, even though they're as linear as they come!
It might be nice to have all this gear at first, but it will soon start to overwhelm you as it fills your backpack. The game has a limited inventory and managing it can be quite difficult, so it is important to find ways to increase it.
How the inventory works in Stalker 2
While playing Stalker 2: Heart Of Chernobyl, you can find almost everything via your PDA except your inventory, which requires pressing a specific button. When you press this button, your character takes out a backpack and puts his hand inside, which opens the menu to show the current items you have.
You can see the equipped weapons, armor, and artifacts in the center while the rest of the items can be seen on the right. If you open the inventory I will go in check another body or a backpackitems will appear on the left. Below your items on the right, you can see the maximum weight bar.
Although the maximum weight is 80 by default, this the bar is still divided into three colors ranging from different weight values.
Basically, you will reach the yellow bar if you have more than 55kg of items in your inventory, which will make the engraved icon appear above the HP bar. When this happens, you'll start using more resistance to run and jump while your sprint speed itself will decrease, and both depend on how overweight you are.
Ideally, you should keep your weight in the green zone, which essentially limits your inventory to around 55kg by default. You can always put the extra items in your private storage in each base or sell them to various merchants along your path.
How to increase your inventory
Unfortunately, this game is quite restrictive when it comes to inventory and It doesn't have many methods to increase storage space. To do this there are mainly two methods:
-
As you explore the lands, you can get some artifacts that can give you additional maximum weight in exchange for lower radiation resistance. Usually on these it says low, medium, high, etc., and an average weight gain brings your weight to 86 kg.
-
Alternatively, you can sometimes find an item called Hercules, which can increase your weight by 20 for 300 seconds. This item is mostly found in areas where the game provides you with a heavy item that you need to carry.
