What are wooden planks used for?

Wooden planks are an advanced crafting material Wrapped that players will need to make progress. Not everything can be made with just raw wood, and if you want to make better buildings and more sophisticated equipment, you will need loose wooden planks.

Unlike the basic one Wrapped materials like wood and stone, getting wooden planks will take some time. There's a list of things to do before you can start creating fine material, so here's a guide that covers all the necessary steps you need to take to help you get started.

How to make wooden planks in Enshrouded

Wooden planks are made with a table saw using wooden logs. Each log produces two planks of wood, and the process takes about a minute to complete. Getting the wooden logs is easy, but if you haven't made much progress in the game yet, getting the table saw will be a problem.

To get a table saw, you need to find and free the carpenter Wrapped. He is one of the NPCs you can summon to your base. You can find the carpenter's vault just east of the Cinder Vaultthe starting point of the game. Before you get there, you'll want to get a grappling hook and glider for traversal, and a strengthened flame at the Flame Altar so you can survive the higher-level Shroud areas.

Once the carpenter is free, you will have to do a short mission to unlock the table saw recipe. In this quest, he will ask you find a circular saw blade in a place called Thornhold. You can find it southeast of the ancient spire of Revelwoodalthough it should also be marked on the map for easier navigation.

Thornhold and the surrounding areas are home to approximately level 13 Scavengers. With this in mind, we highly recommend getting better gear for your class and leveling up Wrapped before heading there.

Wooden planks are mainly used to make crafting stations, furniture and building materials. Some important furniture and crafting stations that need wooden planks are:

Hand spindle (hunter): Used to make better strings.
Masonry (Carpenter) Tools: Expands the joiner's crafting options.
Alchemy Station (Alchemist): Used to craft alchemical goods and tools.

These three items alone will unlock tons of new crafting recipes. Additionally, if you're a builder looking for new blocks to play with, wooden planks are also needed for the refined wood blocks, which are a cut above the regular rough wood blocks in terms of aesthetics.
