Many players might notice this, at least in the early stages of the game Dragon Age: The Veil Guardthat unsuccessful battles in combat leave them with three options; to revive, return to the main menu, or reload from the last checkpoint. Unfortunately for most, the revive option isn't readily available, meaning they'll have to backtrack to overcome the challenge that bested them.

To bring your Tower back from the clutches of the dead and avoid an eternity as part of Emmrich's Grief Guard, you'll need at least one Revive Charge on hand. With one in stock, the revive option will be available the next time you fall in battle, allowing you to pick up right where you left off.

A merchant in Dragon Age: The Veilguard

While reviving itself is a relatively simple process, acquiring the materials needed to perform the action requires more work than it might seem at first glance. While the word “charge” indicates that a revival is a consumable item, it is not something that can be picked up with relative ease at a standard merchant. Revive Charges are bonuses that can be found in selected trinkets and amuletsbut only when they reach a certain level of rarity.

You may be lucky to find an item that has a revive charge, but there are a few places where you can purchase items with the bonus. This will, however, require players to have adequate faction strength and resources to upgrade a faction trader to level three. Restoration fees can be found in the following items:

  • Calibration Crystal +4 (Bellara) – found at the Arlathan Forest merchant.
  • Simple Oil and Stone (Lucanis) – found at a dealer in Treviso.
  • Creator's Chisel +4 (Davrin) – found at the Hossberg Wetlands Merchant.

In addition to traders, players can also reap the rewards by collecting enough memories to increase the Warden's level to nine, as you can add a spell that increases Rook's revive maximum by one. This won't increase your supplies, but it means you can carry more if you and your party have more than one item equipped that will offer respawn opportunities.

Finally, another way to increase awakening charges is to loot items that contain them, such as the Dye Healing Kit Belt that Rook can equip. There's no surefire way to ensure you get one, as the rewards in each chest seem to be quite random, so the best thing you can do, especially early in the game, is solve puzzles and unlock as many chests as possible. There's a chance you'll encounter an item with a revival charge, or in the worst case scenario, you'll end up equipping yourself and your companions with better weapons and armor.
