It can be easily acquired if you’ve had several good salvage runs, but the controls are a bit tricky to get the hang of. Using it incorrectly can be explosive, so you should be wary of falling from great heights or losing yourself in the darkness.

Lethal Company is still in the Early Access, which means that the content may change as the game gets updated. If that happens, the information in this guide will be updated to include the correct information.

How To Get The Jetpack

Players can easily find the Jetpack at the start of any game by looking in their terminal’s store, where it can be purchased for 700 credits. This is a hefty sum and makes the Jetpack one of the most expensive items you can purchase.

While expensive, being able to fly on certain levels may help players get hard-to-reach loot, fly over large gaps, and avoid some monsters altogether. It also has its downsides, including being surprisingly fragile.

You may need to play it a bit safely if you’re trying to save up for the item. If you and your entire team die, you’ll lose whatever you already collected on your ship and the entire day. This could put you behind on your quota and will make it that much harder to save up for the item.

How To Use The Jetpack

When you finally get a jetpack, you’ll be relieved to find the controls are fairly easy to understand, with the ignition being controlled by the Left Mouse Button by default. You’ll use the mouse to move the camera, just like normal, and the WASD keys will tilt you forward, left, back, and right, in that order.

It’s much easier to fly if you jump and then hold the button, as you’ll begin to rise and move in the direction that the jetpack’s engines are facing. Imagining the top of your character’s head pointing in the direction you want to go is helpful as well.

It’s very easy to lose control of the jetpack once you start flying due to the increased speed and how easy it is to turn. For that reason, it is likely easier to use it in short bursts and time out your uses once you get used to how it moves.

You will get hurt if you fall from a fairly average height while wearing it. However, it can be used to slow yourself down as well, which should prevent this.

After repeated damage, the canisters on the jetpack will explode, which includes bumping into some structures. The jetpack will also explode if you simply use it for too long, so be measured with your usage.

As one of the better upgrades, it’s up to players who’ve saved up enough to decide whether it’s worth the risks of damage and the loss of an inventory slot.
