Whether you're looking for Essences to fuel your next big project or just looking to catch some bizarre objects (tires, anyone?), fishing is where the magic happens. But it's not as easy as throwing a line and hoping for the best.

The mayor needs a place to give his speeches.
To catch your prey, you'll have to work on your float and experiment with some dangerous maneuvers. This guide will help you cut through the confusion and get the essentials you need for your MySims adventure. Let's go fishing!
How to fish
To get started, go to pond located in front of your house. This is the designated fishing spot where the minigame takes place. Walk further at the pier AND Tap “A” to begin the fishing process.
The fishing minigame involves controlling your bobber with the right joycon. As you cast your line, you will notice circular bubbles appearing on the surface of the water. To complete a successful capture, move your float directly above these bubbles. The key here is timing: when your the bobber sinks underwater, you should tap “A” repeatedly to recover your prize.
Sometimes, you will have to move the float quickly and erratically. Experiment with different movements to see what attracts fish and makes them bite your float.
As you fish, you will capture different Essences. These essences are essential for various tasks in the game, such as creating and completing quests. Fishing is an automatic process in terms of collecting essences: once the prey is recovered, the essences are automatically added to your backpack.
Once finished, press “B” to exit the fishing minigame.
