Editing braindances in Cyberpunk 2077 can be confusing as there are three different layers, and you must pause at the right time in order to scan for valuable information. This guide will detail how to get everything you need out of Evelyn’s braindances in order to move forward.
How To Edit Evelyn’s First Braindance In Double Life
Once in the braindance, you can exit first-person mode in order to fly around the whole room.
You should always let a braindance play until one of the three layers on the top of your screen creates a bold line. This means that there is something in the vicinity to scan.
There are only three things to scan in this short braindance. It goes as follows:
- The person sitting in front of Evelyn.
- The large screen on the wall in front of the two.
- Flyers at Evelyn’s feet. (automatic scan)
After that, V will say that there is no more to the tape. You can keep the braindance rolling, but there is no extra information to be gathered here for the quest.
You will just hear Evelyn mention the biochip and the Pacifica netrunner will tell her not to speak about the biochip and worry about her orders.
How To Edit Evelyn’s Second Braindance In Double Life
As you speak with Judy about the first braindance, the story starts to unfold about how you got hired for this job and why. There is one more braindance to look through.
For this one, you must let it play out in full before being able to get any information.
Once the braindance plays out, you will have to switch to the audio layer by pressing the switch layer button two times.
Go into editing mode and scan the aura around the Pacifica character at the bottom of the stairs.
Judy will go about installing a translation kit for you. With the auto-translator installed, you must rewind the tape near the middle of the braindance.
You will see the audio layer bolded above your screen to let you know where you need to start from. All you have to do here is let the braindance play out as you listen and read the subtitles.
These two braindances will reveal that a prominent netrunner group will do anything to get information about someone named Alt.
This someone had a personal relationship with Johnny Silverhand, which is why his engram is so important. This is the beginning of understanding the bigger, main story of the game.
What Can You Do In Judy’s Apartment?
While inside of Judy’s apartment you can scan some of Judy’s cool gear. You can interact with items around Judy’s apartment to discuss them with Johnny.
One of the things you can interact with is the robot and metal scrap on the table in Judy’s living room.
Another item you can scan and talk to Johnny about is an expensive piece of braindance equipment in Judy’s computer room. There are a lot of shards to read as well.
Can You Talk To Evelyn?
No matter what you do, you cannot get Evelyn to react to you apart from flinching. She is traumatized from her experience and in very low health.
Choosing any dialogue option with her prior to editing the braindances in Double Life will result in nothing. After editing the braindances, her room will be locked.
