Loki

Before anyone can even talk about how Loki's Devil Fruit can match Luffy's Gear 5, the power of the fruit itself needs to be established. Currently, however, nothing is known about this fruit, only that it is a legendary fruit passed down from the royal line of Elbaf to all those who would become kings, so there are only a few theories about the powers it may possess.

The first, and most commonly believed, is that this fruit is a type of mythical Zoa known as Hebi Hebi no Mi, pattern: Jormungandr. There are some symbolic references to why this might be happening, particularly the fact that in Norse mythology, Jormungandr and Loki share a very close bond and that Loki wants to bring about the end of the world, which Jormungandr also does.

I am the Sun God who will bring about the end of the world!

Furthermore, a theory regarding the so-called 'God Fruits' has been circulating among the fandoms, according to which a Skypiea panel is used as a reference point to talk about various gods. This was the first mention of the Sun God, which was eventually confirmed by Nika. With this in mind, there is also a mention of an Earth God, who could very well be Jormungandr, considering how the serpent is coiled around the Earth in Norse mythology and the act of uncoiling is what causes the destruction of the world.

Furthermore, there are also other theories regarding whether this legendary devil fruit is a mythical Zoan, including one that states that it is the Inu Inu no Mi, model: Fenrir, as Loki is chained in the freezing outskirts of Elbaf, similar to how Fenrir is chained in Norse mythology and is also another son of Loki. The latest theory regarding Loki's fruit being a mythical Zoan is that it is Hito Hito no Mi, model: Elbaf, the monumental giant modeled after the earth god. The theory states that the huge sword on Elbaf actually belonged to this god.

However, if one does not want to believe in the Mythical Zoas, this fruit could be of another type, although another type of Logia would not live up to such a legend. So, this just leaves this devil fruit being a Paramecia type, which could give Loki the power to change or bend reality to some extent, which is also contextually supported, namely due to how the appearance Loki's behavior also seems to have changed from his first mention. Loki is known as the god of evil, so the power to bend reality and change it according to his will is also possible.

One Piece Sun God Loki vs Sun God Nika Luffy

The hypothetical battle between these two characters is currently impossible to quantify simply because the true strength of both sides in this fight remains a mystery. Not only is nothing known about Loki's fruit, but the true extent of Gear 5's abilities is also unknown as Luffy never pushed himself to the max while using the form, only that he found it difficult to damage the 5 Elders.

Despite this, however, some hypotheses can be made. If Loki's fruit was indeed one of those previously mentioned, as theories suggest, then the fight could take place on a much more equal footing than Luffy's fights against Kaido or Lucci. All the time One piece history, only 2 devil fruits have ever been called legendary; Luffy's Nika Fruit and whatever Loki's might be, this shows that they could be on the same level.

His desperate desire for a legendary devil fruit passed down through the Elbaf royal line led him to kill his father, King Harald, and eat the fruit!

If it turns out to be one of the other 3 “fruits of God” on the Skypiea panel, then Luffy will really have his work cut out for him. This is mainly due to the fact that the other Divine Fruits' abilities might be close to his, so they would likely be at a relative power level and have similar abilities, leading to the fight between him and Loki being evenly matched. Likewise, if Loki's fruit was reality-bending Paramecia, or something along those lines, then Luffy would likely be facing his toughest battle yet.
