Aloy will be getting a high-resolution makeover in the next Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster for PlayStation 5. Earlier this month, rumors spread that Guerrilla Games was working on a next-gen upgrade for its 2017 sci-fi action title Horizon Zero Dawnand will soon be officially confirmed during this week's PlayStation State of Play live stream. Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered will be released on PlayStation 5 and Windows platforms on October 31st, and players who already purchased the original PS4 version will be able to upgrade to the digital remaster for just $10.

The news of this new Horizon Zero Dawn The PS5 remaster has been met with mixed reactions from gamers ever since rumors first began, with many believing it is unnecessary because the original version was already playable on the PS5 via backwards compatibility. The conversation eventually caught the attention of Jan-Bart van Beek, a Studio and Art Director at Guerrilla Games and the creator of the original concept for Horizon Zero Dawn.

In a post on Twitter, van Beek explained that Aloy's new character model was brought from Forbidden Horizon Westwith some tweaks to her lighting, skin tones and hair shades to better match them Horizon Zero Dawn's atmosphere. Van Beek also noted that the PS4 screenshot shared by Mr Pyo has motion blur settings turned off, which explains why the PS5 version's textures don't look as sharp. He also explained to a commenter that Aloy's face model was rescanned with the updated 4D technology for Forbidden Horizon Westfurther explaining the differences in its original PS4 Horizon Zero Dawn I wait.


More changes to the remastered version of Aloy Horizon Zero Dawn model include the texture of her hair, which looks a bit straighter than the PS4's.
