Key points
- Hajrudin's return in chapter 1131 implies that he plays a significant role in the Elbaf arc.
- Hajrudin's role in Elbaf is linked to Loki, suggesting a potential clash between the two giants.

With One piece seeing the Straw Hats finally reach the legendary island of Elbaf, the final saga of the franchise has finally begun, with the Land of the Giants serving as perhaps one of the most important islands in the setting. Even though not much is known about this country and the story arc is only just beginning, many believe they have an idea of the important moments that currently await several characters.
One such character that fans are eagerly waiting to see after so long is the captain of the New Giant Pirates and one of the few original members of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet; Hajrudin. This character was finally shown in Elbaf in chapter 1131 of One piecewith the series promising that he will probably have a much bigger role to play than many think, so let's see what the story arc might have in store for him.

Introduced in the beloved Dressrosa story arc, Hajrudin was initially one of the gladiators fighting at the Corydda Colosseum in hopes of winning so he could become the newest user of the Mera Mera no Mi. However, despite failing in his goal, he eventually escaped from the Colosseum and fought against Doflamingo's forces on Luffy's side, eventually becoming one of the first official members of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet.
From then on, Hajrudin was largely unmentioned, merely having a cover story for a few chapters. Chapter 1131 of the manga reintroduces him into the series during the Elbaf story arc, where he is initially revealed to be the prince of the country, although the reason for this is never revealed. So, at the moment, it is unknown whether he and Loki are blood brothers or whether Hajrudin became part of the new royal family of Elbaf after his family replaced Loki's when the Cursed Prince killed his father to gain the legendary Devil Fruit.
So, what is currently known is that Hajrudin is the current prince of Elbaf and the captain of the New Giant Pirates. Because of this, he is one of the most important Giants in the entire setting, not only for carrying on the legacy of Dorry and Brogy, but also for potentially leading his people at the end of the arc. It's unclear whether Loki will become a villain in the end, but if that were to happen, Hajrudin will likely lead the Giants against the villain who possesses a legendary Devil Fruit.
In fact, Hajrudin's role in Elbaf is almost directly tied to that of Loki. That's because it all depends on Loki's true allegiance, as the fandom is divided between those who think he's a bad guy and those who think he's somehow good. Therefore, if Loki is indeed a hero, he will be the one to lead the Giants into the Final War, where if he dies, Hajrudin will likely take over.

Loki has a huge size in One Piece and there's a reason why he's considered special.
Hajrudin vs. Loki
A battle of giants
Having said all that, the contextual evidence seems to suggest that Loki is a villain, especially since he calls himself a Sun God trying to bring about the end of the world. This has given rise to tons of fan theories about what Loki's legendary Devil Fruit is, ranging from an incredibly powerful Logia to a terrifying mythical Zoan to even a reality-altering Paramecia. Whatever this turns out to be, it will likely be one of the most powerful Devil Fruits in the series.
I am the Sun God who will bring about the end of the world!
If that were the case, Hajrudin would have no chance. While he is quite powerful due to him being a giant, he doesn't have any notable Devil Fruits or any recognizable Haki feats that give him even a small chance against someone who is built to be as strong as Loki. If Loki ends up being evil and the two characters eventually have to face each other, Oda may have kept a completely new and equally powerful Devil Fruit in store for Hajrudin to have a chance, because if not, Loki will wipe the floor with the current Prince of 'Elbaf.
