Gunnar's Clear Pro lens is an artist's dream come true

The flagship product Gunnar presented at CES this year was undoubtedly the brand's Clear Pro lens, currently available in several collections: Muir, Humboldt, Pacifica, Palomar, Pismo and Tahoe. Gunnar's Clear Pro lens was developed at the request of graphic designers and other creatives who needed the company's patented lens technology but without the color shift that would inevitably lead to misinterpretation of colors on their screens.

As the name suggests, Gunnar's Clear Pro lenses are completely transparent, despite offering the same technology and features as the brand's other lens variants, including its signature amber tint. Gunnar's Clear Pro lenses are also available for those who require prescription glasses, which ultimately increases their appeal and further broadens their reach.

Gunnar is expanding its selection of mineral glasses

Hot on the heels of clear lenses, Gunnar is expanding its mineral glass offerings with the new Purity collection, scheduled to launch in May. Using the same material found in high-end cameras and telescopes, Gunnar's mineral glass lenses eliminate refraction, rainbow effects and image distortion, ensuring unmatched visual clarity.

At CES, Gunnar unveiled the Purity collection's debut product, Tioga, which houses the brand's famous mineral glass lenses in a lightweight, round acetate and reclaimed wood frame, with German spring hinges for the earcups. Once the Purity collection launches in May, the Tioga line will be available in Amber and Clear Pro mineral glass at a retail price of approximately $250.

Gunnar's new Sun-Shift and Viscer models balance adaptability and comfort

Some of Gunnar's most distinct offerings on display include the brand's new Sun-Shift and Viscer models. The Sun-Shift model is a collaboration with Activision and call of Dutyaptly named “Call of Duty Ghost Edition,” and is currently available for purchase. These glasses feature a military-inspired aviator frame made of high-quality polymer and stainless steel to provide a stylish look and maximum durability. While the lenses are Gunnar's signature Amber tint, they can switch to sunglasses tint when outdoors in about 15 seconds and then switch back to Amber tint after 15 minutes of being inside.

Gunnar's Viscer model is not here yet, as the company aims to launch it in March this year. This particular model of goggles is reminiscent of ski/snowboard goggles, as they feature a wide lens designed to prevent dry eyes by limiting airflow. Ultimately, Gunnar sees them as more appealing to the e-sports audience, but they still offer something unique that anyone could benefit from.

Gunnar's Krista and Pinnacle collections offer more inclusive looks and sizing

In response to customer feedback that the majority of the brand's eyewear is aimed at men, Gunnar will also launch its new Krista collection this year, which should give those wanting a more feminine look what they're looking for. The collection as a whole will launch four distinct lines in the coming months, each with its own look and texture and at just $65.

  • Erika (February 2025): all-metal structure with cat-eye design

  • Eileen (April 2025): Elegant and straight lines

  • Ingrid (April 2025): Rounded, tight-fitting frames

  • Sophia (April 2025): Rose gold temple frame with rounded lenses

Customers have also provided feedback on the fit of most Gunnar glasses, noting that they generally feel a little too tight on larger heads. So, Gunnar is responding in kind with Pinnacle – a line of king-size glasses aimed at providing a better fit for larger heads – scheduled to launch in June 2025.

Gunnar's Quantum and Luma collections blend style with substance

Gunnar also showed off parts of its Quantum and Luma collections at CES 2025, both some of its sleekest offerings yet. The Dume sunglasses, part of the Quantum collection, are inspired by Tony Stark's glasses The Avengers and feature golden temples and side shields, incorporating Gunnar's air shield technology into the mix. Dume is available in Gunnar's Signature Amber, Maximum Protection Amber Max and Sun.

Gunnar's Freemont and Campbell lines, which are part of the Luma collection, are also arriving this year. These glasses feature an all-metal frame with a marbled acetate side and a small slit on the edges. Ultimately, these allow the wearer to get all the benefits of a pair of Gunnar glasses while still presenting a rather inconspicuous appearance.

Overall, Gunnar's showcase at CES 2025 further demonstrates its commitment to innovation, style and inclusiveness, setting a new standard for the eyewear industry. By responding to consumer needs with products such as the Clear Pro and Purity collections, while expanding its appeal through others such as the Krista collection, Gunnar continues to prove itself as an admirable competitor in the market. Whether it's improving visual clarity for creators, redefining functionality for gamers, or delivering designs for underserved demographics, Gunnar proves he remains not just a pioneer but a leader in the industry.
