ATHENS: Greek firefighters on Sunday managed to contain a fire that raged uncontrollably overnight on the Aegean island of Serifos, destroying homes and forcing the evacuation of several villages. Several dozen firefighters with 15 fire trucks, supported by a helicopter transporting water, fought the fire. According to the fire brigade, the fire broke out on Saturday among low vegetation and spread quickly, fueled by strong winds.
