It will debut in version 5.3, both in the open world and Spiral Abyss, and is designed to favor Pyro characters. Overall, the second half seems to favor a hypercarry like Kinich, as Burning and Nightsoul attacks are particularly effective against the abyssal shield of both Tenebrous Papilla and Tenebrous Mimesis.
On the other hand, the first half of Spiral Abyss is definitely made with Citlali in mind. Many theorists believe that Citlali in Genshin Impact he will be Melt's best support in the game, as well as being Mavuika's ideal teammate. While Mavuika and Harlequin are expected to make short work of the first half, players will likely be able to brute force their way through the Spiral Abyss with less orthodox options, such as Navia. The new Spiral Abyss will begin on January 16, 2025 and will last until February 16, 2025. However, Genshin Impact players will be able to prepare Mavuika and Citlali in advance, as both characters are expected to hit the event banners on January 1st.
