The geniuses of the JJK world amaze fans in different ways
- Gojo, Sukuna, and Higuruma are all geniuses in their own way
- Higuruma has been dubbed a Gojo-level talent
When it comes to the world of Jujutsu Kaisenthere are several geniuses who, over the years, have managed to reach the top. When we talk about geniuses, one comes to mind before any other, and this person is none other than Gojo. Gojo's birth was of such enormous importance that with it the balance of the entire world changed. For the first time in 400 years, someone was born with the power of both the Six Eyes and the cursed Unlimited technique. Gojo was special in more ways than one and there is absolutely no denying that fact. It didn't take long for Gojo to master his powers and rise to the top, becoming the strongest modern sorcerer. He did this by completely mastering the Limitless technique and inventing new ways to use this power in innovative ways.
For example, Gojo created a method of keeping Infinity of the Limitless always active and restoring his cursed technique by destroying his own brain and then healing himself using the reverse cursed technique. In many ways, Gojo was a prodigy. That said, Gojo's talent was only brought out to the fullest thanks to his hard work. As confirmed by Yuta in the Shinjuku Showdown story arc, Gojo was a prodigy, but his cursed technique and all his other abilities required him to train relentlessly for many hours. In fact, in many ways, Gojo's powers were harder to control than any other technique, and this just goes to show that Gojo is actually a blend of hard work and talent, just like the vast majority of media geniuses.

Jujutsu Kaisen: The next Six Eyes user after Gojo's death, explained
Gojo's death at the hands of Sukuna means that a new Six Eyes user should be born.
Along with Gojo, Sukuna can also be considered a genius. Having consumed his brother in his mother's womb, Sukuna was forced to survive from the beginning, and survival brought his talent to the highest level. Sukuna became the King of Curses and an individual considered the strongest sorcerer in history. He conquered the Heian era, and even in the modern era, Sukuna has proven to be second to none. Talents on the same level as Gojo and Sukuna don't come often, but they come from time to time, and that's what happened with Hiromi Higuruma.
After Higuruma's introduction, it was clear to fans that this talent would reach far into the world JJK. After his introduction, fans knew he was special and he continued to steal the spotlight from even the protagonist himself, which was absolutely disconcerting for fans to see. In many ways, it can be said that Gege wrote him to be a protagonist, but was forced to sideline him, simply because Yuji was the main character instead.
How Gege made Higuruma a genius
Sukuna praised Higuruma and recognized his talent
Gege wasted no time in pointing out to fans that Higuruma was destined to become a Gojo-level talent. In fact, he clearly stated in the Shinjuku Showdown arc that Higuruma was destined to be a talent on the same level as Gojo and that if he ever realized his potential, he would be just as strong. In approximately two months after gaining his powers, Higuruma was able to create a domain expansion, learn barrier techniques, gain access to the reverse cursed technique, learn domain amplification, and use the cursed technique in a way that only people like Sukuna can do. Higuruma's control in switching from the cursed technique to domain amplification was such that Sukuna was surprised and considered it comparable to his own. In fact, much to the surprise of many fans, he was even able to walk on air using cursed energy, something only the likes of Sukuna have managed to do over the years. Here's what Gege had to say about it:
I really wanted strong warlocks to have a means of aerial mobility (like a double jump). So, I revealed in the Sakurajima Colony arc that in addition to using their CT like Gojo, there is also the method of “grabbing the surface of the air” like Maki and Toji.
Sukuna used this “grabbing the surface of the air” method of movement (look it up!), and moves faster through the air than Maki or Toji while briefly releasing cursed energy in a small explosion when he grasps the surface of the air. (However, air surfaces are not everywhere and are fluid, so its path is limited.)
Furthermore, this “technique of applying cursed energy to the surface of the air” was also used by Higuruma when he played the gavel, and he was on the verge of mastering the double jump. I had planned to connect this setting to describe Higuruma's hidden talent as a sorcerer. – Gege Akutami
As is clear from Gege's words, Higuruma had to be special, and this is evident from the fact that he even earned him Sukuna's praise, which is uncommon. He made sure to draw comparisons to Gojo when creating this character, and all that to say that Higuruma is truly a masterful sorcerer who will likely become the strongest in the future.
Higuruma's control over the cast's energy is greater than that of Utah and even the series' protagonist, Yuji. Right now he is the biggest genius in the series and will continue to grow if the series continues. What Higuruma managed to do in a short amount of time essentially makes it a true Gojo-level gem. As it continues to grow JJKhe will reach even higher levels and, when he matures, he will undoubtedly be as strong a threat as Gojo.
The latest chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen, JJK 271, was finally released on September 29, 2024. Fans can read the series on the Manga Plus and Shonen Jump apps.
