The team behind The Day Before, the disastrous open-world MMO more in line with pull-up shooters, is back and changed its name. Oh, and they want more money.
On Twitter, Fntastic shared that it is using Kickstarter to help generate funds to bring the studio back to life. A link to the firm's website contains the following statement:
We deeply apologize to everyone for The Day Before and take full responsibility for what happened.
There, the team developed a “plan” that outlines how they will overcome past mistakes, as well as the next game they are developing. That game is called “Escape Factory” and is “a physics-based multiplayer cooperative escape game set in dangerous factories for 4-8 players.”

The plan, which can be accessed here, states that the team will use three principles to guide it: honesty, transparency and professionalism. Elsewhere, several “strategic objectives” have also been outlined, including a focus on community engagement, development standards and brand identity, among others.

As part of the planned return, the team created a Kickstarter. If the goal of $15,535 is not reached within the next 29 days, those who participate will have their money refunded and the studio will close again.
Currently, Kickstarter has only allocated $222, distributed among 10 backers. To that end, the team has included multiple reward tiers for backers, including a nearly $10,000 USD tier that grants backers dinner with Fntastic, a Discord title, in-game credit recognition, a copy of the game, and a placed on the website supporters' bulletin board.
Only time will tell whether this plan will be successful, although at the moment it seems highly unlikely that it will generate the necessary funds. Then, once again, stranger things happened.
