Diablo 4: The three new families of monsters of the Vessel of Hatred
Hollows are hideous monsters born from Mephisto's corruption
The Hollows constitute a brand new Diablo family of monsters, and a rather horrible one at that. Even if initially it is not common knowledge among the inhabitants of Diablo 4's Sanctuary, the Hollows were unwittingly created by Neyrelle when she entered Nahantu.
After being burned by Mephisto's soul stone and being gripped by the corruption spreading from it, Neyrelle dipped her hand and soul stone into water to cool herself, thus allowing Mephisto's corruption to spread throughout the jungles of Nahantu. As the black, tar-like corruption spread further, Hollows were born and began to devastate the people and cities in the surrounding area. As products of Mephisto's corruption, Hollows are composed of the same tar-like substance and can be devastating in large numbers.
Hollows are also the first new family of monsters that players encounter during the Vessel of Hatred story, shortly after meeting Raheir.
Dregs are psychotic humans found deep within the jungles of Nahantu
The Dregs are another new monster family introduced with Diablo 4although they are just monsters due to their now psychotic nature. The Dregs are, in fact, human, but after experimenting with hallucinogens found in the flora and fauna of Nahantu, they have gone into an unstoppable psychotic rage and now await players as enemies deep within the jungles of Nahantu.
The Lacuni are a race of cat monsters that have evolved over the course of the series
Of the three monster families introduced with Diablo 4In the Vessel of Hatred expansion, the Lacuni are the only family not new to the series itself. That said, Lacuni have evolved significantly over the years Diablo series, both in their appearance and in their combat roles, making their addition Diablo 4The monster families from with Vessel of Hatred look fresh.
As products of Mephisto's corruption, Hollows are composed of the same tar-like substance and can be devastating in large numbers.
The Lacuni are a highly intelligent and relentlessly savage race of bipedal feline-like creatures, commonly called “panthermen” or “sabercats”. Lacuni society is very similar to that of lions in that it is patriarchal, where male Lacuni are much larger and better suited to leadership roles, and female Lacuni fill the role of huntresses in the monster family. Originally from Kehjistan, the Lacuni initially had a good relationship with humans which saw the two engaged in regular trade. However, the Lacuni turned hostile around the time of Tristram's Darkening and there were some Diablosince then the most iconic monsters ever.
In Vessel of Hatred, the Lacuni are encountered in the Teganze Plateau area of the new Nahantu region, where they challenge players with melee weapons or ranged attacks such as javelins and grenades. It's fitting that the Lacuni first appeared in Diablo2 and now I'm back Diablo 4The Vessel of Hatred expansion of how you monster in the Nahantu region, as Nahantu also debuted in Diablo2.
