Epic’s $27 Alan Wake 2 Deal Includes The First Game For Free

As 2023 nears its end, outlets are deciding their games of the year, and it seems to be a three-horse race for most people. While Baldur’s Gate 3 will likely reap the most rewards, Tears of the Kingdom has been picking up a few too, and so has Alan Wake 2. The best game of 2023 for a lot of people, and you can pick it up through the Epic Games Store for less than $27 right now.

The sequel, which isn’t even two months old yet, is reduced for all customers, but the price plummets when you apply an Epic Coupon. Everyone with an Epic Account will have been given a coupon, and using it on Alan Wake 2 will bring the price of the game down to just $26.79. If you’re torn over whether to use your coupon on Alan Wake 2 or something else, once you’ve used the coupon, it will be replaced with another one provided you use it before 11 am EST on January 10, 2024.

Alan Wake 2 is the sequel to Remedy’s hit survival horror game. It blends two separate stories into one, following FBI agent Saga Anderson as she investigates both a series of brutal murders and a story written by Wake himself.

If not having played the first game still has you skeptical to capitalize on this deal, I’ve got even more good news for you. Epic is currently throwing in the remaster of the original game with all Alan Wake 2 sales. That means you can catch up with what happened in Bright Falls that led to the events of Alan Wake 2 before diving into the sequel at no additional cost.

Epic has cut the price of a lot of games for the holiday period, just in case you don’t get the ones you asked Santa for on December 25. You can even get some pretty big games for free through the site right now if you’re signed up. Destiny 2 is Epic’s first free holiday game, and a different title will be up for grabs later today (December 20). Check back after 11 am EST to find out what the next free holiday game on the site is.

Once the next free game goes live, Destiny 2 will return to its regular price.

The only real downside to this deal is it’s only available to those who want to play through both parts of the Alan Wake journey on PC. There are plenty of great holiday deals for those of you gaming on other platforms, though. Final Fantasy 16 has undergone a price cut following its DLC shadow drop, and Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl are on sale for just $19.99 each at GameStop.
