How to start cornered in the Catacombs side quest

To get started Dragon Age: The Veil GuardYou need to talk to the Cornered in the Catacombs side quest Guardian Vestanext to him is a wounded G”ey Warden Glandivalis Squarethe area just outside Shadow Dragon Shrine. The first step is to locate and reach the Catacombs. Follow the mission marker to the shipyard dock Eastas in the photo above. The entrance to the Catacombs is in front of the dock in an area called the Coastal passagethen you will have to go through the wooden hut on the dock and climb onto the ship to reach it. There is also a marker where you can gather and change your party next to the entrance.

Find the darkspawn

The first objective in Cornered in the Catacombs is that find the darkspawn. Enter the entrance to the Catacombs and turn left. There is an inaccessible gate on the left with some collectibles in front of it. The map also indicates a large chest nearby, but it seems inaccessible. Follow the path e destroy the Scourge boil blocking the path to the left, defeat any enemies that appear, and head into the adjacent room to find more Darkspawn, which is the place to be as indicated by the circular marker on the map. You will also know that you are in the right place, since there are two blight bubbles on the wall and seemingly endless waves of darkspawn. Destroy the Scourge

After detonating as many as you can, climb to the top of the wooden structure near the statue. Look up to spy another Scourge on the ceiling above and use yours Skill Wheel tor use Davrin's Griffin ability called Evil huntercausing multiple Scourge bubbles to light up on the sides of the room. Similar to previous puzzles, how to break the Scourge in the “Singing Blade” mission, destroy the bubbles to upgrade the main Blight Blockade and blast your way through. The Blights also only light up for a certain period, so you'll probably repeat Assan's ability to destroy them all. Now you can destroy the block and reach the next area.

Before moving on to the next area, you can interact with the statue, called the
Evanuri Altar
. After activating it, climb onto the statue and destroy the mysterious shiny objects that appear to your right and straight ahead in line with the statue. This way it gives you

Follow the quest marker up the steps, which leads you to an area with stone blocks surrounded by green water and another block of Blight on the left. Use the Lyrium dagger via the Wheel ability to move stonesallowing you to cross the water path forward and clearing the light beam to reach the device on the opposite side of the path.

Open the small chest and another note to read at the end, to look at with admiration destroy another red Blight bubble on the ceiling. There's also a door above that you can open, creating a shortcut to the bridge from before. Turn around and go back to the green water passage. Now you can destroy the Scourge blockade near the steps, which lead to a elevator.

Take the elevator to the top and exit the area to find a walkway up ahead with a large chest on the right and more Scourge to destroy above and before us. Watch out for explosive blobs falling from above. In the circle marked on the map, eliminate the Red Blight bubbles and all necessary enemies, including the one on the right, which completes the second objective. Then Rook says “This is the last one, we should tell Director Vesta.” You can return to the Catacombs to search for any collectibles you may have missed, or head out the door ahead to find another one big chest on top of the nearby scaffolding, then return to Guardian Vesta just around the corner.

Speak to Guardian Vesta (Cornered in Catacombs quest rewards)

After clearing the Catacombs of the Darkspawn and the Scourge, the final objective of the mission will appear, asking you to Talk to Guardian Vesta again for the final objective of the mission. Return to Vesta in the same place where you first met her and talk to her complete the Cornered mission in the catacombs. Completing the mission rewards you increase in faction strength with the Wardens and Shadow Dragons, as listed below, plus a rare ring called Biting your thumband increase your bond levels with the companions who accompanied you on the mission:

You can also find another one big chest as you exit the final door of the Catacombs, just around the corner from where you talk to Vesta. If you haven't collected all the collectibles in Cornered in the Catacombs, you can use them Dragon Age: The Veil Guardfast travel mechanics to come back and clean them up.
