Life is Strange: Double Exposure follows the other games in the series by asking you to solve a few puzzles to get the information you need to solve the bigger mystery at hand. One such puzzle involves trying to unlock Vinh's phone to see what he is hiding.
Max is tasked with finding out who killed Safi Life is Strange: Double Exposureand Vinh is one of his main suspects in chapter 2. This is mainly because he acts very suspicious towards his phone and as a result, he needs to find the passcode to unlock it and find out his secret .

Before delving into the Life is Strange universe, players should be aware of several unwritten rules regarding its choices and exploration options.
How to unlock Vinh's phone
The first step in this mission is to talk to Vinh in the quad while you are in the world of the living, which will be available after leaving the bar at the beginning of the chapter. He lost his phone and suspects Diamond stole it. Talk to Diamond and eavesdrop on nearby Abraxas members to find out that he probably didn't, and Vinh will tell you that you can find him in his office later.
You won't be able to find him in his office immediately, so complete the other two missions in the Palace of Fine Arts. Once finished, you can find Vinh in his office in the Living World. He found his phone, but is acting very secretive about it. He says he can't remember his passcode because he's hungover, but he knows it has something to do with the day a certain wizard scientist died.
Max will note that, luckily, he knows another Vinh he can talk to, and this is your signal to cross over to the Dead World using his dimensional powers. Return to Vinh's office in the Dead World and you'll find him on the couch drinking a little too early. While talking to him, you can use the favor he owes you to get his access code, or you can find out which wizard scientist he was talking about in the living world.
He will tell you the name of the magician, Jack Parsons. From here, you need to look for a book in the library that will tell you exactly the year he died. The book is on the shelves right next to the fireplace, to the left as you enter the library. If you're not sure where to find the library, that's where you helped Gwen get the book from the locked bookcase.
Now that you have the code, head back to the Living World and Vinh's office. He won't be there, but his phone will be on the desk. Use the code to open it and discover the secret it hides, and Max will be one step closer to solving the mystery of who killed Safi in Life is Strange: Double Exposure.
