It's funny to see how much Shin Megami Tensei puts every other series to shame. Even funnier is that Persona is itself a spin-off of the larger series, and still is many more entries than any other series Atlus delivered.
For the most part this is the case. Some games, like Radiant historythey got subsequent remakes, but no new entries that would classify them as standalone series. This isn't a bad thing either, mind you. Seeing Atlus experiment with brand new games instead of just relying on the past is a sign that it is willing to do more than he is used to.
