Bungie releases update 8.1.0.3 for Destiny 2 along with the weekly reset, it restores the Halloween-inspired Festival of the Lost event and also addresses various issues that impact the game. Even as Episode: Revenant enters its downtime before Act 2 arrives, Bungie is making sure Destiny 2 the players have a lot to do in the meantime.

As players learn, the Festival of the Lost is back for a limited time, though this year's version of the Halloween-inspired event features some new features. Next to Destiny 2 Reset Weekly, Bungie released Update 8.1.0.3, which officially kicked off the Festival of the Lost. The content sees the return of the Haunted Sectors and Book of the Forgotten, as well as giving players another opportunity to unlock the Twilight Remembrance Triumph. In addition to featuring new perk rolls for Mechabre, Jurassic Green, Breytech Werewolf, and Acosmic, players can also earn the new Arcane Embrace, a 2-shot burst heavy bow rifle.

Ghostly and manifest pages

  • Spectral Pages have been cut to simplify the loop and give players more ways to restore the Forgotten Book during the event.
  • Manifested pages exit the general game while Guardian is wearing a FOTL mask or from infested sectors.
  • Extra pages from infested sectors can be earned by defeating up to ten Headless Ones in a single run.

Mask rolls

  • Introductory Mission masks and Expert Haunted Sector masks are released with high stats and Masterwork level 7 (previously it was level 3) to make them more exciting for their limited duration.
  • Basic Infested Sector Masks will now come with high stats (previously these were normal stats).
  • The masks purchased by Eva remain unchanged (a static roll with high stats).


I remember

  • Bringing back an updated version of the Twilight Memento Triumph with new hidden objectives to earn the Memento.
  • Festival of Lost Memories storage limit increased from one to three.

Focus

  • Any focus option that costs an Ominous Engram now has a chance to drop the Memento (previously only the base engram's focus option).
  • Added new focus options on Exotic class items.

Forgotten book

  • Reduced manifested page cost for all older volumes to one manifested page per chapter.

Expert difficulty

  • Removed matchmaking and added infested sectors to the Fireteam Finder.
  • Removed the mission to complete each of the expert infested sectors. Sweetened the challenge of the Torrii Orribili event with 500 additional candies as a reward.

Others

  • Fixed an issue where Warlock masks from the vendor would drop with random stats.


Revenant episode

  • Fixed an issue where on-screen tutorials for Fieldworks could not be closed.
  • Fixed an issue where Major Fieldworks voiceovers did not work properly in some cases.
  • Fixed an issue where Eramis' voiceover was louder than intended.
  • Fixed an issue where the HELM landing zone would instead spawn players in the Last City hub.

Assault: salvation

  • Fixed an issue where Class Warfare and Shot Caller modifiers would not activate during Expert Assault.

Raids and dungeons

Vespers Host

  • Fixed an issue where players who dismantled the Rogue Network mission were unable to repurchase it.

The border of salvation

  • Implemented a potential fix to an issue where Mementos were not dropping for players other than the team leader.
    • We will update this patch note to confirm whether the fix was successful.

Exotic mission rotator

Encore

  • Fixed an issue where players could potentially respawn in the Auxiliary Transit Nexus during the final boss fight and not be able to leave.


Weapons

  • Fixed cases of Cured Deadlock being released with incorrect perks.
    • Hammersmithing will be replaced with Rifled Barrel, Large Caliber Rounds will be replaced with Light Charge, Killing Wind will be replaced with Lone Wolf, and Desperate Measures will be replaced with Closing Time.
    • In cases where perks are enhanced, the perk will be exchanged for the enhanced perk.
  • Fixed an issue where the Vantage Point Pulse Rifle could equip Rocket Launcher mods instead of Pulse Rifle mods.
    • In some cases, if an exclusive rocket mod was equipped, this mod will be removed and players will be able to add a pulse rifle mod of their choice.
  • Fixed an issue where the Vantage Point Pulse Rifle could receive Voltshot instead of the new Jolting Feedback perk.
    • Voltshot instances will be replaced with Jolting Feedback and the enhanced versions with the Enhanced instance.

Advantages

  • Fixed an issue where Desperate Measures had its damage bonus reduced.


Artifact

  • Fixed an issue where the Artifact Power was not granted from the Assassin Baron's Apothecary Bag unless you acquired the Hunter's Journal.
