Luckily, December 10th is right around the corner and fans will be able to enjoy new content, loot, and what is undoubtedly one of the best cosmetic sets of the year.

While it will be another four weeks and a few days before Act 3 of The Revenant is released, which will come with new quests, tonics, loot, and the exotic rifle called Slayer's Fang, December 10th is probably the next big patch for Destiny 2 before 2025 arrives. It's unknown at this stage whether the multiple bugs plaguing the game will be fixed before the end of the year, but fans can look forward to December 10, 2024 to get some shiny new stuff.

On December 10, 2024, Destiny 2The Dawning event will return. According to Bungie's latest TWID post, the Dawning event will remain largely the same throughout its duration, and snowballs may finally have some use thanks to Episode Revenant's focus on Stasis builds. With Dawning, Bungie will completely revamp some of the event's older weapons and introduce a new one: a Void linear fusion rifle called the Mistral Lift.

Mistral Lift will have access to one of the best damage combos in Destiny 2 thanks to Envious Arsenal and Bait and Switch, making it a great choice for DPS.

In addition to Dawning, Bungie will release a total of three new cosmetic sets with the basic concept of “celestial dragons”, which is quite different from the typical Dawning armor in Destiny 2. These new sets will be available for both Bright Dust and Silver, meaning players will be able to get them for free even if they haven't saved up on Bright Dust thanks to the generous Dawning bounties. With a star-filled night sky theme for the “wings” of the Drake Astral Stasis armor sets and dragon helmets, this could very well be one of the most popular cosmetic releases to date.

New Dawn Emblems and Destiny 2 Community Event Explained

With Destiny 2During the Dawning 2024 event, players will have the chance to earn some new emblems. These are obtained via A Gift packs in Return, but are described by Bungie as “pretty rare”, something that is tempered by an upcoming community event called the Dawning Bake-Off. During the Dawning, players will be able to advance the community event by baking specific sets of cookies.

Each week will have different sets, and community objectives will make obtaining the associated emblem more common. The timetable and requirements are as follows:

First Aurora Week – December 10-16 – Pastry Commander

Destiny 2 Winter 2024 Fashion Contest Explained

Last but not least, Bungie is also launching a fashion contest that will award exclusives Destiny 2 Emblems: namely the Felis Galaxias and the Levante Prize. The rules require players to come up with outfits for their Guardians that focus on stasis, winter, or desserts, and to enter they'll need to use the hashtag #DawningFashion on social media and type in their BungieID.
