The 9 most forgettable villains in My Hero Academia
These villains are forgettable not because they aren't powerful or have potential, but because their motivations often seem superficial, among other things.
Midoriya's powers have only increased over time, allowing him to take on difficult opponents and emerge victorious by unleashing immense power when called upon. Some of the best fights in My academic world of heroes engage this character by putting everything on the line to ensure victory.
8 VS Class 1-A
An exhausted Deku admits defeat and is brought back to UA
- It takes place in: Dark Hero Arc
- Winner: Class 1-A
After the Paranormal Liberation War story arc, Midoriya makes the critical mistake of carrying the fate of the world on his shoulders instead of relying on someone else. This causes his classmates to arrive and force him to return to UA and rest before he burns out.
Midoriya's exhaustion prevents him from fighting at his full strength, while Bakugo's apology makes it clear that he's making the wrong choice by ignoring his friends. He agreed to return to UA and enjoyed a long rest that helped refresh him for what would serve as his final conflict.
7 VS Kaina Tsutsumi (Lady Nagant)
It shows how far Midoriya has come, revealing new powers
- It takes place in: Dark Hero Arc
- Winner: Izuku Midoriya
Despite being exhausted while eliminating numerous villains, Midoriya was still alert enough to try to stop Lady Nagant from carrying out her evil deeds. He used his newly acquired Fa Jin to increase his speed and surpass the accurate projectiles he fired.
However, Deku never overdid it and tried to help Lady Nagant see the light. He managed to change her mind, though this triggered a Quirk that triggered an explosion planted in her body by All for One. However, Midoriya managed to save her, turning her into a valuable ally during the Final War.
6 Against Katsuki Bakugo
A fight to settle differences that expands Bakugo's character
- It takes place in: Provisional Hero License Exam Arc
- Winner: Katsuki Bakugo
Bakugo always bullied Midoriya for being Quirkless, only to find himself taking a backseat to his victim when he suddenly acquired a powerful Quirk. However, the breaking point in their relationship came when Bakugo blamed himself for All Might's loss of powers.

A brutal battle in which Midoriya proves the worth of a hero

- Winner: Izuku Midoriya
My academic world of heroesHero training exercises turn fatal more often than not, and the Forest Training Camp story arc is a prime example of this. The League of Villains wreaks havoc once again, with Midoriya facing off against a psychotic villain named Muscular.
He is forced to exert 100% of his power to prevent Muscular from harming civilians. The fight seems like a lost effort until Midoriya goes all out with a Hail Mary attack that stops Muscular once and for all.
4 VS Kai Chisaki (review)
Eri's powers allow Deku to use 100% of One For All
- It takes place in: Shie Hassaikai Arc
- Winner: Izuku Midoriya
Overhaul is one of the most diabolical villains in the series. The idea of him harming Eri causes endless torment for both Mirio and Midoriya, who could have stopped this villain but failed to identify the threat. The end of the Shie Hassaikai story arc involves Nighteye losing hope and suffering a fatal blow after his Foresight Quirk fails him.
However, Midoriya proves him wrong by unleashing 100% of his power to save Eri, only to find that the little girl's Quirk prevented her body from sustaining permanent damage. This allowed him to go 100% with his Full Cowl ability, unleashing a series of hellish strikes that brutally pummeled this foe and led to an emphatic defeat as Midoriya saved the day and dismantled Overhaul's diabolical gang.
3 Against Shoto Todoroki
The best fight at the UA School Festival where Todoroki finally accepts his powers
- It takes place in: UA Sports Festival Arch
- Winner: Shoto Todoroki
