David Beckham brutally calls out Victoria’s ‘lie’ in Netflix documentary

David Beckham brutally called out an apparent “lie” from his wife Victoria lie in their Netflix documentary.

The headline-making four-part series, which dropped on the streamer this week, chronicles the life and times of the legendary British football player.

Among the more serious revelations, including David’s alleged 2003 affair that rocked their marriage, there were some lighter moments that gave rare insight into their 24-year relationship.

In the first episode, Victoria, 49, is seen being interviewed about her upbringing, which she describes as “working class”.

David, 48, swiftly appears in the room, popping his head in the door to demand she “be honest.”

“I am being honest,” Victoria argues.

“Be honest,” David persists. “What car did your dad drive you to school in?”

A miffed Victoria takes a breath, beginning, “So, my dad …” before David quickly cuts her off, “Nope. One answer. What car was it?”

The fashion designer, refusing to back down, says, “It’s not a simple answer. It depends …”

“No, no, no, no, what car?” David continues.

Victoria, finally relenting, says, “OK … In the ‘80s, my dad had a Rolls Royce.”

“Thank you,” David finishes, before leaving the room, an exasperated Victoria left behind.

Aptly nicknamed Posh Spice, Victoria did indeed have a comfortable upbringing.

Her father, Anthony Adams, worked as an electronics engineer in Hertfordshire, creating an electronics wholesale business which provided for his wife Jacqueline Doreen and their three children. Victoria has two siblings, sister Louise and brother, Christian.

In 2015, while speaking at an event in New York, Victoria said she was “embarrassed” by her family’s wealth as a child.

“My dad worked really hard and it was always his ambition to own a Rolls-Royce … So when he got his Rolls-Royce, he used to drive us to school in it every day and I was just mortified,” she said at the time.

“We used to beg him to just drop us at the end of the road. He had a van for work and we used to beg him to take us in the van …. How times have changed because I would love to ride in a Rolls-Royce today.”

Of course, her lifestyle has become significantly more lavish in the decades since, after she joined the globally successful Spice Girls group as ‘Posh Spice’ in 1994.

Victoria married David in 1999, before leaving the music industry in 2004 and starting her eponymous, luxury fashion label in 2008.

The pair are now said to be worth a combined $814 million, according to 2023’s The Sunday Times Rich List.

Beckham is now available to stream on Netflix.
