Akutami's guide provides plenty of behind-the-scenes tidbits about fan-favorite characters, including chronicled interviews, detailed character Q&As, and chapter commentary. So, what details does the JJK fanbook reveal? Are any of the teachers at Jujutsu High dating? Who is the best chef? Who can hold alcohol and who can't? You'll have to keep reading to find out!

Jujutsu Kaisen creator Gege Akutami compared the taste of Sukuna's fingers to soap. Would you eat them?
The students and faculty of Jujutsu High are single
One faculty member is divorced
JJK viewers saw Nobara and Megumi settle Yuji and Yuka in Season 2, Episode 30, “That's It.” And the unrequited love Mechamaru has for Miwa is a significant B-plot. But the other characters find themselves in a situation where “is this it?”
Akutami said that only one Jujutsu High faculty member was married, Masamichi Yaga. However, he is now divorced. The mangaka does not reveal whether his former partner is a sorcerer or not.
Otherwise, according to Akutami, all the teachers and students at Jujutsu High are bachelors, which is why they can cook and clean for themselves. (Sorry, YutaMaki fans. No confirmations for you. No news for you either, SatoSugus.)
For those interested in Nobara Kugisaki, Akutami revealed his preferences in a partner. When asked what kind of man her type was, Akutami responded with Oda Nobunaga. A brash leader with a short fuse who practices martial arts? Yes. It seems compatible with Kugisaki's temperament.
Akutami's Guide showcases its characters' limited flirting skills. In the “Tell Us! Akutami Sensei Collection” section, the author confirms that Itadori was not popular in his old school because the girls interested in him did not know how to communicate their feelings. So, he probably has no idea when someone has a crush on him.
Megumi Fushigoro is another example of someone severely lacking in the dating game. When asked how the sorcerer prodigy would turn down someone interested in him, Akutami replied, “I'm sorry.” Ugh. It's embarrassing.
Yuji has several talents besides fighting
He's a wizard in the kitchen
While Yuji is renowned for his physical talents and his ability as a vessel, he also has several hidden talents. When asked about Juju Stroll karaoke in volume 2, Akutami stated that Yuji is the best singer in his friend group.
Itadori also boasts top-notch chef skills in the kitchen. In the “Party Character Questions and Answers” section, Akutami responded to a question regarding Itadori's cooking:
- “Q: Itadori is the best cook among the first years, but who is the better cook between Fushigoro and Kugisaki?”
- “A: They are more or less the same thing. They both know how to cook to a certain extent.”
Satoru Gojo is a lightweight
One of the sillier bits of Akutami's “Group Character Q&A” is an analysis of the teacher's drinking habits. Each drinker category received Akutami's first choice and a runner-up.
First place |
Runner up |
|
---|---|---|
Heavier drinker |
Shoko Ieiri |
Kento Nanami |
Sloppier drinker |
Utahime Iori |
Naobito Zenin |
Light |
Satoru Gojo |
❌ |
Who would have thought that one of the most powerful sorcerers in jujutsu sorcery couldn't handle his alcohol? Although, when you think about it, Gojo's low tolerance makes sense. Someone with Six Eyes must feel the effects of alcohol more acutely due to their heightened senses.
Utahime's ranking ahead of Naobito as the sloppiest drinker is more surprising. One would assume that Naobito would rank first, considering he spent the entire Shibuya incident intoxicated.
Ranking Shoko and Kento as the heaviest drinkers makes more sense. Usually, the heaviest drinkers are the best at keeping their cool – and those two know how to keep their cool. Additionally, Shoko smokes cigarettes, and according to the National Institute of Health, smokers are 1.32 times more likely to drink than nonsmokers.
