Luckily for Studio Ghibli fans, a new collection of comfortable and warm cardigans has just been launched by official Ghibli affiliated retailer Donguri Kyowakoku. The cardigans come in a few designs based on two of Studio Ghibli's biggest films and are unisex, so everyone can wear them.

This new cardigan collection went on sale on November 22, 2024 and is available online to anyone willing to work via Donguri Kyowakoku's Japanese website. The four available designs are based on My Neighbor Totoro AND Kiki's delivery servicewho are two of the studio's most famous names. As mentioned above, all models are unisex and oversized, making them accessible to many people.

All the details on the Collection

There are four designs in total in the Studio Ghibli cardigan collection. All designs have a small character embroidered on the front, left chest. They also have additional text on the back, which changes depending on the design. The cardigans are also available in four different colors. Only two of the styles are currently new this season, but they were released at the same time as the other two were finally restocked after being unavailable for some time.

The first inspirational film is My Neighbor Totoro. The new design for this film has a small brown Totoro character on the front, and on the back is the name of the film, with the o's replaced by Totoro shapes. It is available in grey. The restocked design has a traditional gray Totoro holding a flower on the front, and the back simply says “Totoro” with some flowers, a balloon and another Totoro character. It is available in cream.

The second film is Kiki's delivery service. The new design in this range is black and has Jiji's face embroidered on the front, peeking out from the black fabric. On the back of the cardigan it says “Black Cat Jiji” and has the silhouette of Jiji. The restocked design features a silhouette of Kiki and Jiji riding their broom along with the name “Kiki” on the front. The back also says “Black Cat” in large letters, with “Jiji” written above in smaller letters and another silhouette of Jiji.

If you don't recognize this shop, it specializes in official Studio Ghibli merchandise and is one of the few brands that regularly produces new Ghibli items and gadgets. It's important to keep in mind that the first time two of these cardigans were released, they sold out quickly, so purchasing them sooner rather than later is in your best interest if you're hoping to snag one or two.
