Lies of P is a game with plenty of unique weapons to choose from, yet the choices with the most versatility are those with good Technique scaling. In other games, you’d consider these weapons dexterity weapons, but since the protagonist isn’t a human, the stats are named a bit differently.
While you might be tempted to go down the Motivity route (strength) for the raw damage each hit does, Technique-based weapons offer wider move sets for both swarms of enemies and boss fights alike. Technique weapons also tend to be smaller, so they block less damage, but the trade-off is worth it, considering the wide options.
8 Booster Glaive
While the starting weapon for Technique builds does its job fairly well, a quick change you can do early on is to swap it for the Booster Glaive. The blade itself has better range, even if it packs more weight than what you’d be used to.
What you really want, however, is the handle. It allows for some nice, wide swings that complement your initial thrusting-only move set well, and the heavy attack is an impressive gap closer. However, be mindful of gaps since you can still fall down them while charging.
7 Dancer’s Curved Sword
A great weapon for general exploration, the Dancer’s Curved Sword covers a wide area in front of you with repeated slashes, making short work of easily staggered enemies. While you can pair the handle with other blades, the weight of the default one makes for a great attack cadence.
Like with most basic weapons, the handle is what you’re really after since that’s what has the good Technique scaling. And its Fable Art is great at using openings to your advantage, swinging wildly while standing in place. It can be great for taking advantage of the opening made by a perfect parry.
6 Tyrant Murderer’s Dagger
Daggers are a classic among Dexterity builds in all games, and with Technique builds in Lies of P, that is no exception. While the main drawback is the small range, the speed of the attacks makes up for it, being able to out-damage most weapons for the same amount of vigor.
Being a normal weapon, you can detach the handle and have those speedy hits on a larger blade. While slower, they’ll still be faster than any other handle. That isn’t to say that you should disregard the blade entirely since it allows for incredible critical damage.
5 Etiquette
Etiquette already wins in terms of style since you’re basically fighting with an umbrella, and that always looks cool. Beyond that, it has some of the best Technique scaling across all weapons, with a quick move set that includes a perfect block.
Being a special weapon, however, you do need to have access to Alidoro if you want to obtain the weapon. Beyond that, it’s simple to acquire since the boss you need to defeat for it is one of the earliest found in the game, making this umbrella an easy pickup.
4 Uroboro’s Eye
While the Technique scaling is decent, what sets Uroboro’s Eye apart from other weapons is the unique Fable Arts. If you find that the basic attacks of weapons are enough for you, the special techniques of this weapon will complement your play style plenty.
For starters, you can throw the blade like a projectile, letting you deal with ambushes at your own pace or even catching fleeing enemies. What’s more, the other ability lets you rev the weapon, making the blade turn in place and adding plenty of damage to your attacks.
3 Puppet Ripper
Locked behind one of the most difficult bosses in the game, the Puppet Ripper is well worth the effort. It has all the quality you expect from a special weapon, with the added benefit that the range it covers is massive, not only forward but around you.
What’s more, all that range is covered by the heavy attacks, meaning that you don’t have to spend precious resources to clear a mob of weak enemies. While other Technique-specific weapons surpass the Ripper, it’s still great to have in hand for mass cleaving.
2 Trident Of The Covenant
The Trident of the Covenant is good in both expected and unexpected ways. Being a Trident, it has a spear-like move set with the range to go with it, letting you damage your enemies before they can get close. It even comes with small gap closers to finish a chase.
The unexpected part of it is its special block ability. While other weapons deal more damage when blocking, the Trident does a backflip when timed correctly, meaning you can parry a charging enemy and stay at optimal range to keep attacking without fearing a counter-attack.
1 Two Dragons Sword
The Two Dragons Sword is simply the best weapon for a Technique build, not only for its excellent scaling but also because of the amount of utility you get out of a single weapon. Its Fable arts alone include the fastest gap closer and a huge area attack.
Yet the main ticket item on the whole move set is the heavy attack, a special parry that deals a lot of damage when connected. Not only is Lies of P a game that relies heavily on the parry system, but you also need to land heavy attacks to land critical hits. Having it all be done in a single strike is what makes this the best weapon in the game.
