Best intelligence items in Baldur's Gate 3

Baldur's Gate 3 is set in the world of Dungeons and dragonsa fantastic universe. It would be unlikely for such a universe to not contain magic, with fantastical abilities all too present in a DND countryside.

Relevant to DND campaign, players will find various items that will help them, and all intelligence-boosting items are crucial for such magical builds as they use it for their spells. Items found that provide bonuses to or with intelligence will be incredibly valuable and can lead to powerful magical builds.

Updated October 15, 2024 by Hamza Haq: In Baldur's Gate 3, intelligence and spellcasting are intrinsically linked together as two sides of the same coin. What enhances intelligence also enhances spellcasting, if indirectly, and vice versa. This makes items that increase the power and reliability of spells coveted by intelligence-based characters, and are often more useful than a simple increase in INT. Of course, stat boosts will always have their place, but as the game progresses into later acts, their value begins to diminish in the face of OP items that may not necessarily directly increase intelligence, but boost classes of intelligence are all the same.

7 Sharp Enchanter's Hat

Guarantees that spell attacks are never critical misses

Any character who invests in intelligence Baldur's Gate 3 is an enchanter of some sort, meaning that items that make spell casting easier directly benefit it. Wizards are unable to wield the Infernal Rapiersince it's a rapier and not a staff, but Eldritch Knights and Arcane Trickster Rogues have the required proficiency. As such, this weapon can be useful for those classes as it uses the spellcasting modifier for attack rolls and as they also scale with Intelligence, it can be a useful item.

4 Markoheshkir

Legendary +2 quarterstaff that imbues the user with elemental magic

For Intelligence-based classes, and indeed for any type of spellcaster, the Markoheshkir it is one of the best legendary weapons ever Baldur's Gate 3. It is a +2 quarterstaff with a unique effect that makes it incredibly strong. When equipped, Markoheshkir increases spell save DC and spell attack rolls by +1, allows the wearer to cast a spell of his choice without expending a spell slot, and gives him the ability to imbue himself with magic elemental.

The Warped Band of Intellect can be valuable to any other class that requires an intelligence boost, especially Eldritch Knight and Arcane Trickster, as they also require other stats for their builds. Since intelligence increases the chance of hitting an enemy with a spell, the warped intellect band can be a great starting acquisition for these classes.

2 Mirror of loss

Increases any skill by +2

• Found inside the House of Pain.

The first mirror can be found in Shar's Gauntlet, even if broken. At the end of the Shadowheart questline, players visit the House of Pain, where they can interact with Mirror of loss to potentially increase any skill by +2, including Intelligence.

Locked behind some dialogue controls, the mirror can increase Intelligence by +2, a boost that can stack with other skill-boosting items. However, players will need to come adequately prepared, as it can be a bit tricky to get through the required dialogue checks.

1 Aunt Ethel's hair

Increases a skill by +1

• Given by Aunt Ethel after reducing her health to 20% with non-lethal damage activated during the boss fight.

It will always be important to obtain an item that can increase a player's ability score by +1. Aunt Ethel's hair does just that, increasing any player skill by +1.

Obviously, the +1 advantage granted by the hair is extremely valuable, but players can obtain the item as soon as they step off the nautiloid if they wish. The buff is also permanent, making it an incredibly early item that will last until the end of the game and can stack with bonuses from others.
