If there's one thing that's been a hot topic in the gaming community as of late, it's the successor to the NintendoSwitch. Ever since Nintendo officially announced that it was working on the as-yet-untitled console in May 2024, gamers have been waiting with bated breath for its reveal. Unfortunately, even though 2024 is almost over, information about the next system is quite scarce. While Nintendo confirmed that the Switch 2 would launch before March 31, 2025, and that it would be backwards compatible with the current Nintendo Switch, it has yet to share specific details about the console. The price, name, appearance, specifications and release date are still a complete mystery.
Many industry commentators initially believed that the Switch 2 would be revealed in late 2024, but after Nintendo's recent earnings call, most of them now think it will be announced in early 2025 instead. If their prediction holds up , fans will have to wait at least a few more months for the system to be revealed, though no one knows when that will happen. Despite the uncertainty surrounding its upcoming announcement, several games have already been confirmed for Switch 2. Nintendo itself hasn't revealed any titles for the Nintendo Switch successor yet, of course, but a couple of third-party developers have hinted at the their intention to do so. support the console without notice.

My Time at Evershine is coming to the successor to the Nintendo Switch
In September 2024, independent Chinese developer Pathea Games announced My time at Evershinethe next episode of My time series of agricultural simulations. While previous titles in the series have been released on current-gen consoles like the Switch, My time at Evershine it will only launch on current generation systems, specifically PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Windows PC. The Legend of Dark Witch Episode 4 is the only confirmed Switch 2 exclusive
The only other game confirmed so far for the Switch 2 is The Legend of Dark Witch Episode 4: Thoughts Delivered. This title didn't get as much coverage as Yooka-Replaylee AND My time at Evershine have, but this is because very little is known about it. The game, developed by Inside Systems, is a new entry The Legend of the Dark Witch franchise, a series of 2D action platformers that have been around since 2015. Legend of the Dark Witch episode 4 was only announced for the “successor of the NintendoSwitch” at the moment, so technically it's the first known console exclusive.
