Path of Exile 2 is an action RPG released in Early Access, which emphasizes meaningful combat that has drawn heavy comparisons to games like Dark Souls. Combined with nearly limitless possibilities for ways to build a character, players have the freedom to challenge the world of Wraeclast however they see fit.
Over the course of the player's journey through Path of Exile 2they will have to complete a series of missions to progress through the main story of the game, divided into three acts currently available in early access. Along the way, optional missions are offered to provide players with free items and permanent character upgrades, making their search for the Seed of Corruption a little easier.

All missions and acts in Path of Exile 2
Path of Exile 2 currently features 23 missions and three acts, split between 13 main missions and 10 optional missions. Main missions are mandatory to progress through the game and access new zones and acts, while optional missions can be skipped, although they often grant players unique rewards such as permanent character stat upgrades or extra points for their passive skill tree . Despite the seemingly small number of missions, completing all three acts can take a surprising amount of time. The full list of missions is below.
Some of the listed rewards may be granted during the quest completion process, such as a guaranteed delivery from a required boss, rather than upon quest completion.

While the current Early Access version of Path of Exile 2 contains three acts, the full game is expected to double this number and add three more acts for a total of six. To accommodate the three currently missing acts and provide a smoother transition for players towards the end of the game, the game switches to Cruel difficulty after completing the third act. Working similarly to a New Game+ system, players progress through the acts a second time with higher difficulty enemies while retaining all the items and stats they have accumulated throughout the game. While Cruel difficulty mission objectives are identical to their Normal difficulty counterparts, some rewards are altered, offering higher-level versions of items or different base types of the same reward.
