-
Luffy's Gear 5 design, introduced in his battle against Kaido, is visually creative, stimulating and maintains his eccentric personality.
Since Luffy can distort and twist his body in any way it can imagine thanks to its fruit of the devil, it means that it can become more creative when it takes on a new form that improves its strength and duration in a fight. It is always a huge moment in the anime and manga community when Luffy triggers a new mint form. But while it is easy to focus initially on their strength and new skills, their design also do a lot to make these transformations memorable and unique.
The author Eiichiro Oda has prepared some incredible design for the many forms of Luffy throughout the One piece history. Everyone differs in terms of overall detail and qualities, with some who are much larger than others. With Gear 5 who is now a permanent addition to the Arsenal of Power Ups in Luffy, it seems right to reflect on each of these forms from a strictly visual point of view, to see where Luffy seems to be the best.

Nightmare luffy
A monstrous cartoon look that comes only for a fight
-
First appearance: episode 370
Nightmare Luffy is a form that presented itself only once during the intense battle of the protagonist with Gecko Moria – a formidable, even if lazy, a member of the Shichibukai. To enlarge enough to face the submissive giant of Moria known as Orz Jr., Luffy absorbs hundreds of shadows. His entire body grows up to the proportions from cartoon and his skin becomes blue to refer to the classic Frankenstein monster.
It seems that Oda could have made even more horror references in this design packed, but it is still a unique look for Luffy. It is honestly threatening because of its size, together with the medium balance that never leaves Luffy's face. The addition of the sword on the back of Luffy is a nice touch, together with the belt that extends on the chest, making it look like a real unadvision.

Grabbing Luffy's hand up to such a stunning dimension is a fun way to show the potential of his rubber body. He also demonstrates his creativity in being able to evoke such an experimental form that he can carry out work without being too flashy or exaggerated.

Form of the travel tank 4
This exhilarating but formidable tank strengthens Luffy's defenses
-
First appearance: episode 806
Luffy experienced his Gear 4 mode so much that in the end he was able to separate it in different forms, one of which is its form of defensive tank top. When activating this technique, Luffy expands until it becomes a gigantic round rubber ball. The addition of Haki's red flames that reach his body makes him look more like a ball of fiery anger, creating a strange but interesting design.
Many fans also appreciate this form as one of the few who shows Luffy's most foolish side, allowing him to act a little more carefree, still underlining his power below. Luffy may not throw this form these days, but he still made people explode when he showed himself for the first time against Cracker.

March 2
Luffy's first true power brought small but effective visual additions
-
First appearance: episode 272
While Gear 2 does not change too much the appearance of Luffy, the small additions that are added, such as Luffy's hot red skin and the steam that emanates from his body, perfectly represent the immense strength of this pirate, also in this first point of history. When you take this form, Luffy always has a mortal look at the face, adding to the intimidation factor. This is one of the many reasons why it has become such an iconic transformation.
The steam that rises from Luffy's body in Gear 2 is a subtle but simple way to emphasize Luffy's gorgliant power that climbs to the surface, invoking fear to the eyes of anyone who is unfortunate enough to be against him.

Gear 4 Boundman
Packed full of interesting details

This was not the only time Luffy used the limit of history, which makes sense considering what its overall speed strengthens, allowing him to make the rims work even the most difficult of the opponents. From the point of view of design, it is one of the best of Luffy and probably the most recognizable of all its transformations.
2
Gear 4 Snakeman
Combines the strength with speed, with consequent epic design
-
First appearance: episode 870
If Luffy is trying to add a little more speed and precision to his attacks, he can take Snakeman. This form sees him slender while still keeps the enormous strength offered by Bouno Man. Consequently, his arms are still covered with intense red Haki, but a considerable change is Luffy's hair, which starts floating in the air, showing how much It has become light and agile.
Gear 4 Snakeman feels like Luffy most similar to God ever looked before Gear 5. Revelation is considered one of the most iconic moments of the post-timekip section of history. It is an incredible design that does a good job in making Luffy intimidating, so much so that even Katakuri has been taken abruptly.

March 5
Changes enough on luffy's appearance keeping core features
-
First appearance: episode 1072
The Ensement Gear 5 did not disappoint when he arrived for the first time during Luffy's last meeting with the dangerous Kaido. The spectators were able to see a simplified but creative design that feeds on the shocked personality and lover of Luffy's fun. With Luffy's hair that becomes clear whites and taking the form of swollen clouds, together with the white circular form that surrounds its body, presents the protagonist as a kind of divinity in other words that exudes omnipotence.
While Luffy's appearance crosses a real review, it still retains some of its key characteristics to remind fans that it is still at the center of the transformation, in particular the cheese smile, which is even wider than normal. There is no doubt that, although it has been introduced so far in history, Gear 5 will always be remembered as one of the most visually interesting and creative design of the series.
