Al-Balsam and SANS to provide health awareness services

JEDDAH: The 2024 Jeddah Season officially kicked off on Thursday with the slogan “Once again.”

The opening ceremony took place in Jeddah, at the Promenade of Arts, under the patronage of Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Deputy Governor of the Makkah Region and Chairman of the National Evaluation Commission for Jeddah Province, and Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, Governor of Jeddah.

Visitors were treated to drone shows, fireworks and other visual treats as the season’s events programme was announced.

“The fireworks were amazing!” said local Abdul Rahman. “They lasted for a good 15 to 20 minutes and the whole crowd was mesmerized.”

Another person, Sana Hamid, said: “I have never seen so many people at an opening ceremony. It was absolutely magical and I can’t imagine how amazing the rest of the events will be.

“Crowd management was also impressive. Even though we had to walk a bit, everything was well organized.”

The Jeddah 2024 season lasts 60 days and is packed with activities and events to suit all tastes. It also aims to stimulate the Kingdom’s economy and provide jobs for young people.

Art lovers can immerse themselves in the “Imagine Monet” exhibition, featuring 200 works by the French artist, while kids will love the Joy Plex, which features multiple play zones, each with a different theme.

Opening day attractions include the Beach Club — a resort-style paradise in Ash Shati that offers relaxing escapes until August 17 — and Warner Bros. Discovery, where guests can meet their favorite cartoon and comic book characters, including Tom and Jerry, Batman and Superman.

City Walk returns for its fourth year, offering interactive attractions, games, activities, dining and shopping, with a host of events and concerts taking place at Prince Majid Park in the coming weeks.

Tickets for all events can be booked on the Saudi Events website.
